The Fairy Pools. Scotland
Fairy Pools are considered to be one of the most beautiful places in Scotland and one of the most amazing sights on the earth. It is truly amazing and fabulous sight!
Fairy Pools are located to the south-east of Glen Brittle Forest in the south of the Isle of Skye, three kilometers from the beach. They were created by a stream flowing down the mountains Cuillin, which formed the sharp rises and waterfalls. These fairy reservoirs disposed at the foot of Cuillins are like postcards or paintings of the skillful master – an amazing sight! A cascade of waterfalls and winding beauty of rock formations created by falling water give the basins a special magical connotation.
In fact, the fairy pools – a cascade of waterfalls. All the lakes are crystal clear and surrounded by large rocky cliffs and walls, waterfalls and lush foliage. However, the water is icy! It does not stop travelers and lovers of swimming in natural bodies of water.
The popularity of Fairy Pools on Skye is increasing every year, thanks to clean water and spectacular views. Of course, you will not believe the colorful photographs until you see it with your own eyes! You can quite easily get to the Isle of Skye (Inner Hebrides) from the mainland to Mallaig ferry or Highway Bridge from Kyle of Lochalsh.
If you decided to go by bus, the nearest stop is 6 km from the place. Then you must go on foot. This route is easy and undemanding, although in some places there are wetlands.
If you travel by car, move along the road to Glen Brittle. Stay at a local parking lot. Across the street, there is a clear path that leads to the reservoirs. Stick to the right side. Prepare comfortable shoes – some parts of the path cross small streams, so be prepared to jump from rock to rock.
The beauty of this region will largely exceed your expectations.
