About
Feel Planet tells the Indian Ocean differently: a positive, rigorous and human read of the Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mayotte, La Réunion and the Seychelles.
Our mission
We practise constructive journalism. That does not mean looking away from problems; it means covering the region through what is being built, repaired and reinvented — with the same standards of verification as any serious newsroom. Every story names its sources, its date and its author, and states what has been checked.
Why « positive, not naive »
Crises are real, and we report them. But we refuse the idea that the Indian Ocean is only a backdrop for disasters or postcards. Behind every headline there are people, initiatives and solutions worth documenting precisely. That balance — clear-eyed but constructive — is our editorial signature.
One region, six identities
The six islands are covered as a connected region, not as interchangeable silos. Each destination has its own hub, its own colour and its own editorial promise, while four cross-cutting universes — Escapes, Flavours & Culture, Momentum and People — tie the region together.
Independent and bilingual
Feel Planet is published in French and English so the region’s stories travel beyond its borders. The newsroom is independent; advertising and reader support fund the work, and never dictate the coverage. Our standards are set out in the editorial charter, our use of AI in the AI policy, and our approach to mistakes in the corrections policy.
